Flag it:How much do you usually spend on a baby shower gift?
I have a friend who is having a baby. She is a good friend (not best, but good). Another friend of mine wants to go in on a gift together. I have a different idea of how much I want to spend than she does. This is her thrid baby (of the same sex as the others). Does that matter? I don't think so! I think every baby (and mother) has the right to be celebrated! She is having a huge shower at a tea room, with at least 30 guests. I guess I am going to have to give my own gift! Something unique and special.

What does that word mean? I have and know that others take this word so lightly - and a lot of people do not know the definition of a friend. I have learned not use the word so lightly and have also learned to be selective. I also had to learn that because we may go to lunch three times a week or work together closely on a project or even talk on the phone daily this is sometimes just relationship and not a friendship. A friend to me, sacrifices not all the time but should be willing to if need be, is supportive and will tell you the truth even if it hurts, will laugh, cry and scream with you, will get up in the middle of the night if needed, will love you thru the pain - I'd like to know how others define the word friend....

Flag it:Returning to a long lost friend
I was once an avid IVILLAGE'er and some how lost my way.I've come back for the support I once knew and now miss. I've ventured to other support sites for things like weight loss (one reason I'm back) and haven't found the people to be as helpful and whole-hearted as they are here. So, I'm trying to get familiar with the new site and make my way through. Here's getting to know you!
