Numerology and Tarot: Musings on the Number 4
The number 4 has come up a lot in readings over the past few weeks. While it is the number of stability, according to Qabalah, it is also ruled by the planet Jupiter--the planet of 'expansion'. How are expansion and stability compatible? I think that we can best grow and expand only when we reach a place of stability. Stability/4 is a solid foundation that provides the structure we need to grow and build further.
There is, however, a 'negative' way we can use the 4, and that is by using our place of security as a crutch. When we are stable, it is easier to sit back and enjoy the relaxation (notice the characters in the 4 of swords and cups)! Why move and grow when we have what we need? By holding on too tightly to our 'securities' (whether it be monetary, job, relationship or belief security), we limit ourselves and run the danger of becoming stagnant.

Dream
Last night I dreamed of a black cafe chair being slowly moved throughout a building as I bustled to and fro--I became impatient with the speed at which it was being moved, so I grabbed it and hurled it up one large flight of stairs.
Meaning: chair = stability = resting (4 legs)
I am ready to stop 'resting' and to begin to get things done---quickly!
Ha! Just noticed that today's date adds up to 22 (reduces to 4)!
Peace & Out
