Angels & Monsters is was an incredible episode. Angels & Monsters completely flipped around all of our most stubbornly held views of the vibrant characters of Heroes. Suddenly we are faced with the darker sides of our Heroes.Claire startled us last week with her cold-hearted actions resulting in the death of Future Peter and Little Noah, Sylar's future son (errily named after her father who, this week, tried to kill Sylar).I find myself faced with the hardest-to-accept change tonight. Peter tried to kill Angela (his mother), who was quickly saved by Sylar. This shocked me. I am slowly coming to grips with the fact that Peter may be incapacitated for a few episodes because he has "turned to the dark side". Likewise, an original favorite of mine...Mohinder Suresh...has turned into a cold-hearted, out-of-control monster. He began the episode by kidnapping a drug dealer only to attack Maya later. He has not killed these people as far as we know. He just "glues" them to the wall with whatever substance is leaking from his body. One a lighter note, the character we have all been wary of since the beginning...the biggest murderer of them all thus far...Sylar has made his way into my heart as the saviour of the show this season. Hopefully we will continue to see the sympathetic and wonderful version of Claire Bennet we all adore. Tonights episode reaffirmed my belief in her ability to do good. I was beginning to think she was turning into a bitter girl hell-bent on revenge with a vendetta. Tonight's episode gave us back the Claire Bear. Also this episode struggled to re-establish the dynamic relationship between HRG and Claire, a very important part of both previous seasons. Hopefully we will be seeing more of this. It is the only thing left alone from the other seasons. Like many others, I am wrestling to swallow this season's odd twists and turns...but if for no other reason, the depth of our Sylar story this season is enough to make me watch for 2 more years!
