This is a horrific attempt at entertainment that will only result in traumatized infants and toddlers, regardless of the teens' abilities to parent and "handle the pressure." As child psychologists and parents around the world are already saying, such removal of young infants and toddlers from their parents will be equivalent to kidnapping in the child's mind, resulting in lifelong problems with handling stress and abandonment issues.
No child who has lived with his or her parents up to the point of the show will understand what is happening, why his or her parents have abandoned them, or why their lives have changed so drastically. These children will mourn the loss of their parents and not only give a false sense of parenthood to the teens of the show, but will result in depression in the infants and toddlers and a sense of insecurity that may last a lifetime. You need only read the open letter from Jan Hunt, child psychologist and family counselor, to understand the true repercussions such an insidious show will have on these young children.
