Ali could you help me?

Ali,
You started where I am at right now. Until you started on your journey I couldn't or wouldn't see my own weight problem. I kept saying well I haven't have to buy bigger pants in a couple of years. I am so unhealthly and lazy that I am having a really hard time getting myself up to get started.
I have the plans all worked out in my head but my body is not working with me to carry out those plans.
I have battled with depression which think caused the depression which did not help the depression. I have 2 collapsed vertabreas in my lower back. The dr. says weight lose would greatly help my back problems I just can't do a lot of the physical things that you had done on the show. I know that starting slow is my best bet but can you offer any other ideas?
Food intake is another one of my problems that I am getting a grip on. I used to have a habit of going out to a different restaurant every week day for lunch. Wether it was chiense, mexican, italian, subway, mcdonalds, burger king, taco bell. But thankfully I quit my morning job and that ment my husband has control of the checkbook again and I can't got out any more. That is how I have lost my first 10 pounds in the past month. NO MORE DINING OUT.
Well I could keep going but I know you have a million of these to read.

CONGRATS on your lose! You look amazing! I hope that someday I can get that close to my goal.

Chubby_Mom - It is great that you are ready to take the step to get healthier. I too have been overweight for a while and have overlooked my actual weight. Because I'm tall I don't carry my weight the way most people do and I'm proportional so I don't always see just how big things are. I decided to make the change and I started changing my eating habits and I joined a gym. I've decided that I enjoy working out and when I don't go to the gym now I feel bad about it. Eating wise, I try not to think about it too much or I start to feel restricted and deprived. I just cut out a lot of the junk food. I too used to eat out all the time, but I've found ways around that. I only go to places that I know offer "healthy" meals - Bonanza, Perkins, Subway. I stay away from fast food and places where I know the food is high in calories, starches or fats (such as Italian - which is really hard since I am Italian). I have found that eating the right foods actually keeps you full longer and you do feel better. I know it's hard to work out with an injury. A lot of gyms offer training that will help you with that. They will evalulate what level you can work at and devise a plan just for you. Most gyms also have childcare so you can work out and your kids can have playtime with other kids. I wish you a lot of luck on you journey. If Ali can do it, all of us women can!!

Ali - Congrats..... Not sure why Jillian is calling you her girl when you and your mom started out on Bob's team. I think you got stuck with Jillian when you returned because Mark got to pick his coach first. You did a great job but it was not because of Jillian.

I like Bob as a coach more. Can't explain why Jillian rubs me the wrong way.
