PIERCE EM PIERS!!!

Thursday, March 27th, 2008, 7:20 pm

It's down to the final two ... and we're just hours away from finding out who Mr. Trump will crown the new "Apprentice." I realize most of you are betting against the arrogant, crude Brit in hopes he is taught a lesson by the country music star from heaven. But, should Trace win this competition just because he is nicer than Piers? Or, rather, should Piers lose this battle because he doesn't care at all what the public really thinks of him or his attitude? Before you vote, take a moment to evaluate both sides of the coin.

Sure, Trace is a great guy. He's even raising money for a charity that will improve the health of his daughter. He's also quietly raised a considerable amount of money during his challenges. He's not a back-stabber. In the corporate boardroom he'd rather keep his mouth closed than discuss his ill feelings about the person sitting next to him. You can trust him with your kids, your wife, and your money. America likes Trace cause he believes in liberty and justice for all - and that's the American way. But does that really make Trace a winner? Does that really qualify him to be the Apprentice?

Piers is an arrogant, at times obnoxious Brit who focuses heavily on the bottom line. He doesn't enjoy just winning, he likes to annihilate the competition - and he'll do whatever is necessary to accomplish that goal. Piers strikes me as a strategic person; always comparing the challenger's strengthes and weaknesses to the bottom line. If he doesn't like you he'll tell you. If he thinks you did a poor job he'll reprimand you in the boardroom. He makes the little people feel even smaller. That's not very nice, and hey - that ain't the American way neither. But at the end of the day, you can bet Piers did his best to achieve his goal. Still, does that make him a loser? Are we saying he isn't worthy of being awarded the title just because he isn't as sweet as grandma's apple pie?

Who utimately proves better for the stability of a company: The guy who clocks in at work everyday with a Mary Poppins attitude and recieves love from every employee in the company but winds up costing the company rather than helping? Or that arrogant, insangely honest guy in the next cubicle that produces more revenue for the company than three people alone? Okay ... okay, I agree this example is a little far-fetched. Sometimes you have to create bizarre situations for people to really understand and evaluate what they percieve to be the truth.

If you haven't noticed, I'm riding with Piers all the way. Piers is a winner. Sure, he's a little aggressive and abrasive - but when you watch Donald Trump don't you see the same qualities? Why everyone is so up-in-arms about Piers' personality is beyond me. That man strategically beat his competitors time and time again and made them look like amateurs. He deserves to win this competition. Trace can be my friend, but Piers can lead my team.

In closing, for all those folks out there who care and are still a little unsure, allow me to share a phrase with you I coined a long time ago: Don't hate the player or the game ... hate the fact you can't compete©™!

Trace is an all American guy. He is down to earth and many people relate to him because he is not the typical celebrity. He doesn't flash his money around and associates himself with normal American folk. Piers on the other hand is beyond arrogant. He doesn't deserve to win. It is about more than how much your friends can contribute. It is about having a heart. I was very disappointed that most of the tasks were based on calling your friends for donations. It should have been more than that.
