Well, here it is, August 26, 2007. I was worried after the Heroes season 1 finale that things were going to drag this summer and I'm somewhat glad they didn't. I also want to say a nice big "Thank You!!!" to the folks at NBC for the cast-hosted Heroes rebroadcasts they've been showing on Mondays. Now I have a reason to look forward to Mondays again until the new season starts. The new trailers look great. My only complaint, a minor one, is that, in the ethereal looking one, I don't care for the song in the background. Otherwise, the cast were excellent in it, great effects, and Sendhil Ramamurthy's narration is as great as ever. I would, also, love to see a Heroes sountrack. That would be awesome. While I wasn't able to go to Comicon, I will be leaving for New York tomorrow to attend the Heroes World Tour (and do some sight seeing). So, for any who are reading this, take a good look at the pics I have here and on MySpace, and if you're in NYC and see someone who looks like that, you never know, it might just be me.

After reflecting on some of the quotes in my last entry, I felt the need to clarify some things. Before anyone gets the wrong idea about me I'd just like to point out that while I do like Peter (in fact Peter and Hiro are my favorites after Claude), I'm not into this certain variety of "slash-shipping" that is interspersed through fandom at all.( to be quite honest it really upsets me). To me the whole Claude and Peter interaction strikes me much more like Like a Mentor & Student interaction such as Kwai Chang Caine and Peter (in Kung Fu the Legend Continues) or (to use some Star Wars analogies) Obiwan and Anakin, or Quigon and Obiwan, or Obiwan and Luke or Yoda and Luke. (Though, I must say Claude is way better looking than any of the mentors I've mentioned ) As for the whole Claude and Mr. Bennet interaction, prior to the events of "Company Man," that struck me more like Matt Sykes and George Francisco of Alien Nation (movie and TV), or -dare I say it- Ponch and John from CHiPS(yeah I know I'm dating myself). Lust my two cents. Feel free to agree or disagree, just don't try to sell me on any of this "shipping" business, because unless such things are implicitly stated on screen, as far as I'm concerned, it is not cannon.

After hearing someone's theory over on TV Guide.com (where I have a blog as well as here) I was quite dismayed to hear her tell me that she thinks the Sylar managed to off my favorite invisible mentor. So I brought the topic up in one of my LJ coms that I belong to and the group of us came up with the following post (which I posted to TV Guide.com as well as my own LiveJournal site):(note: sweetbelle07 over on LJ Gave me this fantastic title to work with.)
I am disheartened to think the Heroes crew would have allowed Claude to have an offscreen Death if they were going to "off him" (as Claude would put it). I found it impossible to believe and decided to discuss it with some of my contacts over on LJ and this is what we came up with (LJ usernames credited)
According to some, over here in the TV Guide blog, Sylar supposedly has invisibility. I don't think so. Near the end of season 1, Sylar had to hide behind a pillar eating icecream to eavesdrop on Peter and his friends. If he'd killed Claude and stolen my favorite hero's power, there would have been no need of this.
Also, as sweetbelle07 pointed out to me, Sylar seems to have this speed ability, which he utilized in "Homecoming." He moves so fast he gives the impression of being invisible. Peter hadn't met Claude before "Homecoming," so Claude was alive. To quote sweetbelle07 "I was under the impression that Sylar was just moving too quickly for anyone to tell that he'd actually moved, giving the impression that he'd turned invisible.
Since Sylar had sprinted up to the top of a building type thing when he ran into Matt and Audrey and did relatively the same thing to Peter in Homecoming. He moved in the time it took Peter to blink really and Peter looked shocked, giving the impression that Sylar's movements were silent.
So... Claude's alive.
Sylar just killed the Flash."
There are a great many people that Sylar has killed and powers that are not accounted for.
Consider also, when Sylar killed Dale (and Claude was back in New York training Peter and alive), Dale (superhearing woman) said "I didn't hear any footsteps."
Sylar "There weren't any."
That is not invisbility but close, and Dale didn't see him until he was within touching distance. Perhaps he runs light and fast enough to not be heard.
doctorfan's comment was "No hard evidence to back it up, but the timelines don't seem to support that."
john_jones said, "People thought and spoke about it. I shall tell only that Claude is the bright character, and they will not kill him" for the staff " and to speak that Sylar has killed him! It is silly!"
jocoses' comment was "Can`t see why the series creator would be so keen to get Chris Eccleston back in series 2 just for flashbacks, which if Sylar had already killed him thats what they would amount to, although I suppose it would be the ultimate tease-you think claude is safely back and then it winds up with him dead at the end of the flashbacks- I suppose it would be the big carrot to get him back lol nice juicy death scene to get his teeth into!
Then again I dont think they would want to lose such a popular character-especially as they have the ability to suggest he`s about even if the actor isn`t-too good an option to kill off methinks."
And I know Christopher Eccleston wants "something meaty" for him to return as Claude and somehow I don't think simple flashbacks will cut it.
sunnytyler001 had this to say:
"Oh come on! Claude has way too much potential to be already killed off!
My first reaction to this post was pure sadness... but thinking about it, I think it's just impossible.
Benett and Claude used to work together and, in a way, to be friends... it would be interesting to learn more about their common past, their friendship, etc...
And then, when he worked with Benett, Mr Raines used to protect someone... another "hero".... but who?
And what happened to him during those 15 years... He sounded like a very nice man before, what exactly did he see/hear that changed him so much?
Did he have a family? A wife (Ooohhh, could they cast Billie Piper as Mrs Raines???)? Children?
Then, there is also his huge fanbase... People liked him, they shipped him with Peter a lot... and Christopher had such an amazing screen chemistry with Milo!
It would be just like killing Chloe Sullivan on Smallville !
Such a ridiculous waste... followed by the fury of hundreds of fans."
So to quote my title:
"Claude's not dead (Sylar just killed the Flash!)"

I have a theory concerning Peter Petrelli of Heroes and those vision-like dreams he gets. We haven't been shown on screen whose power Peter has coppied here but I have reason to belive it may be his mom. Granted, some of what she knew the Hatian could have told her, but I really started to wonder about that when she knew Linderman had been killed and there was no sign of the Haitian. I had put a post in my livejournal about this but have recived little feedback and reckoned a fan or two on myNBC might be interested.Something occurred to me at about 10:30pm August 9, 2007, as I was driving to work. I was recalling how, on the show, Peter had that recurring nightmare where he explodes and how Claude was laughing at him in it. I also was recalling the other nightmare that Peter had, where one minute he's talking to Nathan and the next Sylar is there where Nathan had been and says "You don't know anything about power." This is when it hit me that Peter's dreams may be a bit scrambled. Remember how he kept having that flying dream and how it turned out that it was Nathan who was the one who could fly? Or how, in Peter's life (albeit fictional) that it's Claude who tries to teach Peter about power and tells him that essentially Peter doesn't know anything ("There's a lot you don't see. You have no idea how to use thes gifts of yours properly.") or how it was Sylar who laughed when Peter almost blew up New York? I think that was Peter's subconscious trying to scare him just prior to the explosion nightmare. There are those who argued that it was Sylar manifesting himself, but if Sylar could do that, why have we only seen him do it to Peter? As for Claude laughing, that was Peter's subconscious drawing attention to Claude so Peter would pay attention when he saw Claude for real, and also I think Peter's subconscious got a bit scrambled. There's a lot of symbolism in Peter's nightmare too. Claire's in her Cheerleading outfit, Matt is still dressed as a cop, Mohinder is leaving a taxicab that he was driving... a lot of this changed in the characters' lives, but those were key elements connected to those people. There's a bit where Isaac pulls Simone away, and in Peter's reality, Isaac shot and killed Simone. Just my thoughts and I wanted to share. enjoy :)

Anyone else having trouble? I know were still in the "beta" stage, but for some odd reason I have two ID's on myNBC and the older one I can no longer access. Also, for some other bizarre reason I got listed as "male" with the other one. People, please check your files; I am a woman. I did check off female when asked for my gender. Don't let the short hair in my avatar/user pic fool you... I'm the gal in the tye-dye. And the bearded bloke next to me? That's Claude from Heroes, if you didn't already know...
