Proud as a "Rainbow Chicken"

The season finale for 30 Rock was so funny. It was written by Tina Fey and so you knew it was going to be awesome. Last week I signed up for the 30 Rock Trivia/Quiz via cell phone thingy. They text you questions about the show, during the show. It was fun because I love trivia, especially about my favorite show, but the texts kept coming in while I was watching and ultimately, distracted me from the show. But that’s something I’ll have to deal with next season. Then I got online to check out the live blog with Jack McBrayer a/k/a Kenneth the Page. It was soooo cool because he replied to the question I posted last week regarding the writers’ strike and how it effected the flow of the show. Here is his response as posted on the live blog:

For Stephanie- Missed episodes?

I don't really know if there were any missing episodes written that didn't get shot because of the strike. I don't think fans missed out on any storylines because of the strike. I know Tina tried to shy away from missing out on big storylines for the fans. This is more of a Tina Fey question. I answered it the best I could!

OMG!! I freaked out!! Jack McBrayer actually responded to little ol’ ME! How friggin’ cool is that! I know: I’m a total dork! Whatever. Any acknowledgement from a cast member of the BEST SHOW ON TELEVISION is the highlight of my day, month, year, life. Life? What life? But I digress….

So, as per “Kenneth’s” suggestion, when Tina Fey does her next live blog, I will definitely be asking her that strike question among other things. Isn’t it fabulous that the “Rainbow Chicken” network gives us fans this opportunity to connect, not only with other obsessive fans of the show , but with the creative talent thereof? God bless us every one.

Now on to the season finale. The show was so damn funny!  I thought Matthew Broderick as Cooter Berger (such a dirty name) was great - PEN CLOSET - puleez! The pursuit of the Olympics with Kenneth - gotta love NBC to plug it in that way.  The whole pregnancy scare and then the ending was really sweet with Jack. I love their friendship. Oh, and the Additional Filth credit for Frank on the porn video game, too damn funny!!  Anyway, the whole show was, as per usual, HYSTERICAL from the first minute to the last.

Oh, how I will miss the show this summer. I hope they play a lot of reruns. But I will still enjoy my Season One DVD when I need my 30 Rock fix or if I’m feeling low. If you haven’t gotten the DVD yet, I suggest you run, don’t walk to your nearest video store and purchase one (hey, Tina, you like my plug for the show!!??)  NBC, please know that this is the best comedy on the network so make sure you promote the show and keep it on the air. You really do bring good things to life!
