TINA FEY = Entertainer of the Year 2008

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008, 3:36 pm

Tina Fey was named Entertainer of the Year for 2008! Hooooooooooraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!

Congrats Tina, you deserve it!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all you 30ROCK fans out there!

Sorry I haven't had a chance to blog about the last couple of episodes w/Steve Martin and the high school reunion - which was another scream-out-loud funny show!

I did receive the Season 2 DVD for my b'day/xmas! And I'm happy to report that I turned my dad on to 30ROCK so add another number to that ratings tally NBC. He looks to be a loyal fan as I caught him up on all the past two seasons and a couple from this one.

See you back in 2009 with more bloganations about my favorite show in the world.

The One with The Cast of Night Court - SCREAM OUT LOUD FUNNY!!

Thursday, November 13th, 2008, 10:27 pm

That show was so damn funny! I was laughing so loud I missed dialogue and I have to watch it again RIGHT NOW to catch what I missed!

"Hey, did you see our shout out in Variety? They called us a "comedy" show!!" - Liz Lemon

Mi Au, crazy buddy, the F train, "clizzub", "he gave me the business", Aquarium, werewolf public defender, that hat!!, the new page uniforms (a real change at NBC)!

Dude, how funny was Jennifer Aniston tonight??! Great job!

GOD I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! Keep the guest stars coming,Tina. You are adept at selecting very funny people and putting them in hysterical situations!

Can't wait to see Steve Martin next week. Until then, I remain, devoted to 30ROCK...

Believe in the Stars - The 30ROCK/Oprah Episode - Part 2

Thursday, November 13th, 2008, 3:53 pm

Yeah, sorry about so abruptly ending the last blog...

Anyway, as I was saying the whole Oprah on 30ROCK thing was just annoying. The only saving grace is that I figured out early that Oprah was just a drug-induced mistaken identity. Maybe Tina Fey wrote the episode for us non-Oprah fanatics. You know, wink wink, its not really her, watch it thru Liz's eyes/under the influence, this is a coo to have Oprah on the show, try to bear with me, we need the ratings, wink wink, love you loyal viewers. Tina knows her audience is not stupid, thankfully. She played the whole Oprah-worship thing in her face wonderfully! And just the rest of the cast's reaction to Liz's meeting with Oprah, kissing her hand and whatnot. Brilliant.

So for that I give you thumbs up on the Oprah episode, Tina. Nicely done! I believe it did do pretty well in the ratings. So I guess the plan worked!

Looking forward to Jennifer Aniston's guest spot on tonight's episode. Again, I'm not a big Jen fan but, I will endure the stunt casting (for now), if it keeps us devoted 30ROCK fans laughing and brings in more viewers to keep the show's ratings up and ON THE AIR!

Believe in the Stars - The 30ROCK/Oprah Episode

Monday, November 10th, 2008, 1:52 pm

I should preface this entry by saying that I'm not a big fan of Oprah. I just find her to be obnoxious and overly self-important. Not to take away from her success or her influence, but I am not one of these people that will, as Tina Fey says, "does what ever Oprah tells them to"! That's not the kind of person I am and I think that someone who makes life choices based on Oprah's opinions, support and recommendations must have extremely low self-esteem and lack of decision making skills.

Having said that, when I heard that Oprah was going to be in an episode of 30ROCK, I figured, well, this is the end of the show and Tina Fey is trying to grab as many famous people as possible before the show gets cancelled. Basically, I thought it was a calculated act to get more ratings, which in some respects I applaude the effort but it made me feel similar to when McCain picked Palin for VP, blatant pandering to the Clinton voters because Palin is a woman. Maybe my analogy is not clear or I didn't present it right. Needless to say, I tolerated the fact that Oprah would be on the show, but, quite frankly, I wasn't happy about it.

TO BE CONTINUED, I GOTTA INTERRUPT THIS BLOG TO DO ACTUAL WORK....WILL RETURN TO EDIT AND ADD TO IT.

Gene Hackman - Advice to Writers:

Monday, November 10th, 2008, 1:37 pm

"Write what's in your heart. To be fulfilled as a writer, you have to write about something that you care about." - Gene Hackman, author/actor extraordinaire

Well, that's good advice, Gene! And since, in my opinion, you can do no wrong, I'll follow your lead and continue to blog about my favorite things (not like Oprah, "please welcome Gene Hackmaaaaaaaan!!")!

My favorite things include but are not limited to the following:

30ROCK (no shit, Sherlock)

Saturday Night Live (been watching since 1975, why stop now?)

Gene Hackman (probably to the point of obnoxious gushing!)

Great Movies (so many movies, so little time...)

The Beatles (nuff said)

Alfred Hitchcock (the man was a f---ing GENIUS)

And anything else I deem worthly of writing about. Because this is an entertainment-related blog with most of the focus on 30ROCK, I will try to keep subjects interesting and informative.

"And that's all I'm going say about that..." - Forrest Gump
